At least 14 people, including an American citizen, were killed and 114 injured in a massive overnight attack on Kyiv, marking the deadliest strike on the Ukrainian capital this year.
Across Ukraine, more than 440 drones and 32 missiles hit multiple cities, President Volodymyr Zelensky said, including Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, and Odessa, where a 15th victim – a 60-year-old woman – died.
'Putin is doing this only because he can afford to continue the war,' Zelensky said in a post on Telegram. 'He wants the war to continue. It is bad when the powers that be turn a blind eye to this.'
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the number of victims was increasing, and rescue workers searched the ruins for survivors, then for bodies.
