'A dialogue about rationality and irrationality': Ai Weiwei to open exhibition in Ukraine
Briefly

Ai Weiwei is set to unveil a new installation in Kyiv, titled 'Three Perfectly Proportioned Spheres and Camouflage Uniforms Painted White.' This site-specific work aims to respond to contemporary armed conflicts and is created with support from RIBBON International and FORMA Architects. Open from September 14 to November 30, the exhibition at Pavilion 13 facilitates discussions about the dualities of war and peace, rationality versus irrationality. Weiwei's spheres echo historical themes and critique the acceptance of tragedy in today’s world, demonstrating art's potential to challenge authoritarianism and bureaucracy.
At its core, this exhibition is a dialogue about war and peace, rationality and irrationality. I think art is the only way to save humanity from authoritarian and other kinds of technical bureaucracy.
The camouflage uniforms enveloping the spheres are painted white... reflecting the history of civilisation's development, our collective memories, and the tragic reality that has become widely accepted and continues to unfold in the world today.
