Renewi Tour: Mathieu van der Poel powers past Arnaud De Lie to win stage 3 on the cobbles

Mathieu van der Poel accelerated past Arnaud De Lie on the final 200 metres of cobbles in Geraardsbergen to win stage 3 of the Renewi Tour. Arnaud De Lie finished second for the second time in three days and earned six bonus seconds to move into the overall lead by one second over Van der Poel; Merlier dropped to third at 21 seconds back. Tim Wellens initiated the decisive three-rider breakaway with 33km to go but faded to third, 12 seconds behind. Van der Poel had earlier attacked with under 100km remaining to bridge to a lead group of eleven riders.
