
Precise won the Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas in decisive fashion, completing the third leg of an Aidan O’Brien treble. Sent off as the opening fillies Classic favourite despite less than ideal preparation, she benefited from improved fitness and a strong late burst. Wayne Lordan guided Precise, who accelerated inside the final furlong to defeat True Love by two and a half lengths. True Love, ridden by Ryan Moore, led early and travelled well, but lacked an answer when Precise quickened. O’Brien credited Precise’s step forward and Lordan’s ride, while also explaining that earlier Newmarket conditions and fitness needs affected the outcome. The win extended O’Brien’s record to 12 Irish 1,000 Guineas victories.
