Tucker Carlson Clashes With Student Over Anti-Trump Texts
"I'll tell you exactly what that was. Um, those are between me and a producer of mine who I really love. I'm still I'm close to, and that was about It was in January after the election, and Trump was saying they stole it from me. And I called the White House and I said, I'm totally willing to believe that. I mean, [Mark] Zuckerberg puts $400 million into the mechanic"
"You're one of the most annoying people I've ever dealt with, Carlson said. He continued: My views are, like, on the internet, and I don't work for anybody but me. I'm in business with my college roommate. I have no incentive to ever lie at all, and I really try not to. I supported the Iraq War pretty vehemently. I supported a nomination of a Supreme Court Justice, Amy Coney Barrett, that was like a huge mistake."
Tucker Carlson engaged in a heated exchange with a student at Indiana University during a Turning Point USA event after the student raised private texts in which Carlson criticized Donald Trump. The student referenced messages revealed in Dominion's defamation suit that included Carlson saying he passionately hated Trump. Carlson called the student annoying, ordered him to leave after profanity, and defended his independence and motivations, saying he does not work for anyone. Carlson acknowledged past political positions, including support for the Iraq War and Amy Coney Barrett, and said certain texts were private communications from January after the election.
