President Donald Trump announced that he will posthumously award Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Charlie Kirk founded Turning Point USA and served as a prominent conservative activist on college campuses. Kirk was shot and killed at Utah Valley University during a stop on his "American Comeback" tour. Trump said, "Charley was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty and an inspiration to millions and millions of people," and offered prayers for Kirk's wife, Erica, and his children. The date and time of the medal ceremony have not been released.
