"Charlie Kirk served proudly on the board, inspiring not only the next generation of servicemembers, but millions around the world with his bold Christian faith, defense of the truth, and deep love of country. Erika Kirk will continue his legacy, and will be a fearless advocate."
Erika Kirk, a 37-year-old widow of rightwing activist Charlie Kirk who was murdered in September, has been appointed to the US Air Force Academy's 16-member board of visitors. The board oversees matters including morale, discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, and fiscal affairs at the Colorado Springs military facility. Kirk's husband previously served on the same board after Trump's appointment and held the position until his death. The appointment was not officially announced by the academy but was reported by political news outlets. Kirk joins other Trump loyalists on the panel, including Republican senators Tommy Tuberville, Kevin Cramer, and Markwayne Mullin, along with Dina Powell, who served as deputy national security adviser during Trump's first administration.
