Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has denied making remarks about 'Jewish space lasers' in a 2018 Facebook post, attributing the ensuing controversy to a misleading hit piece. In her original post, she speculated about lasers or blue beams causing California wildfires, specifically mentioning the Rothschild investment group as connected to a conspiracy. Greene has faced backlash for these comments, viewed as anti-Semitic, and has been forced to clarify her position multiple times. During a recent interview, she vehemently rejected the claims that she used the specific phrase in question while acknowledging her Facebook account.
I never said Jewish space lasers. That's a lie. Yeah, it's a lie and I really am tired of people perpetuating the lie. So what do you mean you didn't say it? I'm trying to clear it up, Ugyur pressed. Greene replied: I've never said that.
It was early January of 2021 when I first came into Congress. So it was an entire hit piece against me and it was a statement I had never said in my life. Until I saw it trending on Twitter attached to my name.
