3 Vietnam War-era vets finally receive diplomas from Iowa high school some 60 years after they left school for service

Three Iowa veterans received their high school diplomas decades after leaving school early to serve in the U.S. military. Robert David Holliday, Richard Hill, and Dennis Snyder were honored during a graduation ceremony at Muscatine High School, with Snyder and Hill walking across the stage to a chorus of applause. Snyder, who served in the Navy, reflected on his emotions upon receiving the diploma, stating it made his service feel worthwhile. Holliday was acknowledged at home, and over the past three years, eight veterans from Muscatine have received similar honors.
Getting it now, I look back and I think, 'Well, everything that I did with the service and everything was all worth it,' Snyder told WQAD.
