Bee is an AI matchmaker for Bumble that learns what users want in a partner through initial private conversations. Bee then helps users find matches through Bumble’s “Dates” tool. Bee’s role is expected to expand to planning dates and collecting anonymous feedback about those dates. Bumble is also shifting away from swiping right or left, aiming to address user fatigue with swiping. Bumble founder and CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd said people feel exhausted and that swiping has degraded their love lives. Bumble has already changed messaging rules by allowing men to respond to preset “opening moves” prompts, giving women a 24-hour window to reply, as a response to criticism about the burden of making the first move.
