Wandsworth Town station, raised on railway arches with four platforms accessed by stairs, will receive step-free access and a reopened northern entrance. The north-side entrance closed in the 1980s and was replaced by south-side entrances in later decades, with the current entrance installed in 2013. Detailed design work followed 2022 plans and the Wandsworth Cabinet has approved funding for the upgrade. A second entrance is needed to relieve overcrowding and serve planned housing on the station's north side. The project is expected to cost around £20 million, with developer funds and council contributions covering costs.
