The London borough set for some of the biggest development projects in the capital in 2026
"Typically considered a quieter, less frantic borough than some of its inner London counterparts, Hammersmith and Fulham is projected to undergo huge changes in the coming years. Major development schemes such as Earl's Court, which was recently approved, and Old Oak will fundamentally change the way parts of the borough look and feel. Elsewhere large housing projects such as at King's Road Park continue to move ahead at-pace, with some of the homes already occupied."
"A council spokesperson previously told the LDRS the Civic Campus will be a fully accessible space, co-designed with residents, and an environmentally positive development, featuring solar panels and innovative ground source heat pumps. Residents have already started moving into the new homes of which more than 50 per cent are genuinely affordable. Council staff will start working from the Civic Campus early in the new year as we finalise the works to provide a modern new quarter where people can live, work, play and relax."
Hammersmith and Fulham will undergo major change as several large developments advance. Earl's Court and Old Oak will alter borough areas. King's Road Park housing is progressing with some homes already occupied. The King's Street Civic Campus will contain restaurants, rooftop bars, office space, a cinema, homes and a refurbished town hall. The complex experienced delays after a 2022 accident injured two builders, but an internal timeline expects a public opening in March. Approved in 2019, the Civic Campus will be fully accessible, co-designed with residents, include solar panels and ground-source heat pumps, and deliver more than 50% genuinely affordable homes. Council staff will begin working there early next year.
