Ten New York City neighborhoods saw the largest year-over-year increases in homes for sale by the end of 2025, expanding buyer choices into 2026. Citywide housing inventory rose 9.3 percent. Brooklyn accounted for six of the top ten neighborhoods, Queens had three and Manhattan had one; the Bronx and Staten Island were not included. Brooklyn rental inventory climbed 10.1 percent to 3,434 homes, while Queens increased 17.7 percent to 2,675 homes. Brighton Beach led with nearly a 49 percent surge and Flushing rose about 48 percent. Median asking rent increased 7.6 percent to $3,874, while the median asking price for homes fell 2.4 percent to $1.025 million.
