"A Texas company has paid well over $90 million to buy a pair of data centers in Santa Clara in a sign that investors still hunger for these sites amid the artificial intelligence boom. The data centers are located at 4650 and 4700 Old Ironsides drives in Santa Clara, a short distance from Levi's Stadium. Centersquare, a Texas-based data center-oriented real estate firm, acted through affiliates to pay $97 million in cash for the adjacent data centers,"
"In October, Centersquare announced it had agreed to buy 10 data centers in the United States and North America as part of a $1 billion expansion. The blog post didn't indicate whether the Santa Clara sites were part of that transaction. Affiliates controlled by Centersquare paid $55 million for the 4650 Old Ironsides Drive data center and $42 million for the 4700 Old Ironsides Drive site, the county documents show."
Centersquare affiliates paid $97 million in cash to acquire two adjacent data centers at 4650 and 4700 Old Ironsides Drive in Santa Clara, near Levi's Stadium. The purchases were split as $55 million for 4650 Old Ironsides Drive and $42 million for 4700 Old Ironsides Drive. The transaction filing was recorded with the Santa Clara County Recorder's Office on Nov. 14. In October, Centersquare said it had agreed to buy 10 data centers across the United States and North America as part of a $1 billion expansion, without specifying whether the Santa Clara sites were included. Tech companies increasingly seek data centers to process growing volumes of data for artificial intelligence, and PG&E identified San Jose and the South Bay as areas to expand electricity capacity for energy-hungry tech and data center industries.
