Real estate agent accused of scamming renters in the Bronx, Brooklyn & Queens
""He played me," said Adan Lazaro. "I think next time I look for a real estate, I gotta make sure I look more into the person, look for reviews, more recommendations and not even trust nobody.""
""We tried calling him," Adan Lazaro recalled. "He never answered. He never picked up the call.""
""I don't know if I'm gonna get my money back," said Adnan Lazaro. "I know it's not a lot, but it's gonna help me move, you know, my family. It's tough to know that this person has done this to several people not one or two, a lot of people.""
Multiple renters across the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens allege that a real estate agent collected deposits and never provided apartment access. David Adan Lazaro paid $1,000 for an apartment on Bronx Boulevard and never received keys, forcing his family to contend with mold and urgent repairs while trying to use a homelessness prevention voucher. Court records show similar complaints and nearly $10,000 in deposits collected without granting access. The agent, identified as Christian Quiceno, is jailed at Rikers Island and charged with grand larceny and fraud while victims fear they will not recover their money.
