Barbara Corcoran described how Donald Trump, when facing bankruptcy, successfully sold the Plaza Hotel along with adjacent land to wealthy Hong Kong buyers. Despite the buyers focusing on the hotel, Trump emphasized the potential of the Hudson River land, which led to a successful deal. Corcoran praised Trump’s salesmanship, declaring him the best she had ever encountered. The deal not only allowed Trump to recover financially but also resulted in the buyers purchasing the adjoining land, eventually leading to the creation of Trump Towers.
"I've done a lot of work with Donald and I can tell you he is the best salesman I've ever met in my life," said Corcoran.
Trump managed to sell a large plot of land along with the Plaza Hotel, which was not initially part of the deal, recovering from financial troubles.
Trump barely mentioned the hotel while pitching to buyers, focusing instead on selling them on the Hudson River land, leading to a successful deal.
