Hope for 600 new homes as Land Development Agency buys site in Finglas

A 3.88ha site in Jamestown Industrial Estate has been purchased by the Land Development Agency in Dublin 11. The site is located off the N2 near the M50, opposite the planned Luas extension route from Broombridge to Charlestown. After planning permission, the development could provide up to 600 new homes along with space for commercial and community facilities. The purchase is part of a private site acquisition initiative that brings privately owned land into state-owned and local authority partnership sites. The initiative emphasizes regeneration and unlocking underutilised land for affordable housing. The area is well connected to major employment centres and transport links, including Dublin Airport and hospitals, and is about 1.5km from Charlestown Shopping Centre.
