BART chooses developer team for 618-unit housing project at Ashby station
Briefly

A development team has been chosen by BART to lead the redevelopment of the Ashby station, consisting of firms from Berkeley, Oakland, and Idaho. The project entails constructing 618 apartments, with half designated as affordable housing, on the west parking lot of the station. This development will feature five buildings of up to seven stories and include significant commercial and office space. BART's use of a unanimous board vote underscores support, despite some concerns regarding the project’s leadership structure.
BART officials have tapped a development team made up of firms from Berkeley, Oakland and Idaho to lead the long-planned redevelopment of the Ashby station in South Berkeley.
A group called Adeline Alliance Partners plans to build 618 apartments, half of which would be affordable, atop the station's west parking lot.
The transit village would comprise five buildings standing up to seven stories tall, and include 25,000 square feet of commercial and office space.
BART's Board of Directors voted unanimously to direct transit agency staff to negotiate exclusively with the Adeline Alliance Partners group, choosing its proposal over another finalist.
