Huijsen excited to get to work under Alonso as Mbappe misses training - Soccer News

Dean Huijsen expressed enthusiasm about joining Real Madrid under coach Xabi Alonso following his successful tenure at Bayer Leverkusen. As the first signing of Alonso's coaching era, Huijsen moved from Bournemouth for €59.5m. Alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold, he is set to debut in the Club World Cup against Al-Hilal. Alonso's clear coaching philosophy excites Huijsen, while potential absences, like Kylian Mbappe due to a fever, and the sweltering Miami conditions add to the team's preparation challenges.
"He is a good coach with clear ideas," said Huijsen. "Everyone knows what he has been, and what he is. As a coach he's accomplished great things, and as a player the same. We're all excited."
"The truth is that the heat is counterproductive at times, but for our opponents too," Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos said. "We're training at these times, and we want to be 'comfortable' within that discomfort."
