Cazorla ready for fairytale finish after son's words of inspiration
Briefly

Santi Cazorla, at 40, is set for his final season with Real Oviedo, the club he once left without playing. Cazorla faced immense challenges, including two years sidelined due to serious ankle issues, undergoing 11 operations, and fighting gangrene. His son Enzo provided emotional support, encouraging him not to give up. Despite the persistent pain and physical struggles, he is grateful for the opportunity to play at a top level again with the team he loves. Cazorla acknowledges that he must listen to his body, indicating his awareness of the need to retire soon.
During his 636 days out, 11 operations and gangrene which ate into his Achilles, Cazorla was ready to quit - only for Enzo... to keep him going.
My son would say 'no daddy, please try again - tomorrow will be better and you will start to feel better. I want to see you again...'
This will be my last season, I have to listen to my body and it's already asking me... I have a lot of problems, pains every day.
Finally, I did it. But in that moment it was difficult to say 'yes, I will be back'. These words, they are my support and my power for every day.
