Alonso led Madrid to the semifinals of the 2025 Club World Cup and had an early six-match LaLiga winning streak that earned a Manager of the Month award. Alonso, 44, joined in June on a three-year deal after winning the 2024 Bundesliga unbeaten with Bayer Leverkusen and previously played for Real Madrid from 2009 to 2014.
