Vin Gupta Hits Trump With Brutal Fact Check On Tylenol Advice
"Pregnant Women, DON'T USE TYLENOL UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, DON'T GIVE TYLENOL TO YOUR YOUNG CHILD FOR VIRTUALLY ANY REASON, BREAK UP THE MMR SHOT INTO THREE TOTALLY SEPARATE SHOTS (NOT MIXED!), TAKE CHICKEN P SHOT SEPARATELY, TAKE HEPATITAS [Sic] B SHOT AT 12 YEARS OLD, OR OLDER, AND, IMPORTANTLY, TAKE VACCINE IN 5 SEPARATE MEDICAL VISITS! President DJT Gupta called Trump's concerns about Tylenol not substantiated, pointing to clinical research showing that taking Tylenol does not increase risk of autism in children."
"I'm reading his post as we speak, break up the MMR shot into three totally separate shots, not mixed, exclamation point, is what he put out there. You know, I'm not sure who's advising him, but those three shots, measles, mumps, rubella, that's what constitutes MMR, that vaccine. That did not exist as monovalent vaccines. What does that mean? There is no single measles shot. There's no singles mumps shot. There's no single shot for rubella. It's a trivalent three in one vaccine. That's what exists and you get them twice. Once between say 12 to 15 months of age and once between four and six years of age."
A social media post advised pregnant women to avoid Tylenol unless necessary and discouraged giving Tylenol to young children while recommending splitting several vaccines across visits. Clinical research does not support a link between taking Tylenol and increased autism risk in children. The MMR vaccine combines measles, mumps, and rubella into a trivalent formulation; monovalent measles, mumps, or rubella shots do not exist and the combined vaccine is typically administered twice, around 12–15 months and again between four and six years. Varicella can be given separately and advisory bodies have evaluated separate vaccine scheduling.
