Sutton primary among first school in UK to offer free breakfast to all pupils
Briefly

Pupils at Brookfield Primary Academy in Sutton are receiving free breakfasts as part of a new national pilot scheme initiated post-Easter holidays. This program is designed to ensure that every child begins the school day well-fed, enhancing their readiness to learn. The initiative marks Brookfield Primary Academy as one of the early adopters of the national breakfast clubs program. Parental support for this scheme has been positive, highlighting the school’s commitment to various types of support for students, including mental health and special educational needs.
Brookfield Primary Academy is among the first schools in the country to offer the scheme, launched after the Easter holidays as part of the Government's early rollout of universal free breakfasts.
The aim is to ensure that every child begins the day fed and ready to learn.
At LEO Academy Trust, we are also pleased to have the opportunity to support parents through this new scheme.
They don't just provide education, they provide activities and mental health and SEN support, working in a family-oriented, and more importantly, a child-centred way.
