A 16-year-old from Weymouth reports being unable to resume previous sporting activity, missing most of secondary schooling, and feeling excluded as peers move on. Advocacy groups representing thousands of families call for decisive government action and a formal apology for overlooked children. Some young people had to shield at home for extended periods to protect vulnerable family members, losing learning opportunities and social contact.
