Registration opens to NYC clergy for disaster chaplaincy certification training
"CITYWIDE - A DISASTER CHAPLAIN CERTIFICATION PROGRAM will be available to New York City clergy and other faith leaders in March. The New York Disaster and Interfaith Services organization will hold a three-day, in-person training at its offices on Monday through Wednesday, March 23 to 25, with the goal of preparing spiritual caregivers to volunteer as a disaster chaplain in mass-care settings or to serve as a crisis chaplain within a house of worship, religious community or professional institution."
"The training's National Disaster Interfaiths Network Spiritual Care Curricula is compliant with national standards and the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Religious & Cultural Literacy & Competency programs. The training is free for NYC religious leaders, and $250 for others.
