Play Yards Sold on Amazon Recalled Due to Risk of 'Serious Injury' or Death
"On Nov. 20, the government agency posted a recall involving about 70 play yards sold by Anna Queen on the e-commerce giant's website. The commission said that the play yards were being removed from the market because they "violate the mandatory standard for play yards" listed on the agency's website. The standards include general requirements, like openings and latching and locking mechanisms, as well as performance requirements regarding mesh and other materials."
"The particular play yards are designed with black panels on all four sides that are connected to gray mesh to enclose the play yard. The inside of the play yard has a mattress. The play yards have a model number of "P700" and a production date of "202503," which can be found on the packaging and the removable tag included with the play area. The play yards were distributed by Amazon beginning in March and sold for between $100 and $110."
""Infants can become entrapped under the mattress or between the side of the play yard and the mattress, posing a risk of serious injury or deadly suffocation hazard," the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission explained in the recall notice. There haven't been any injuries reported, the agency confirmed. The retailer listed for the product is Guangzhou Tinger Trading Co. Ltd., of China, which sold the product under the name Anna Queen."
About 70 Anna Queen play yards sold on Amazon were recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Nov. 20 for violating mandatory play yard standards. The recalled models feature black panels with gray mesh and an internal mattress, labeled model P700 with production date 202503 on packaging and the removable tag. The hazard involves infant entrapment under the mattress or between the side and mattress, posing serious injury or deadly suffocation risk; no injuries have been reported. The play yards were distributed on Amazon beginning in March and sold for $100–$110. Consumers should stop using the play yard immediately, disassemble and destroy the fabric cover and mattress pad, and email a photo of the destroyed play yard to tingerservice@outlook.com to obtain a full refund.
