"According to a notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recall includes about 1,290,000 units in the United States and another approximately 104,195 units in Canada. In the U.S., the ovens were sold nationwide in stores such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Costco, and Walmart. The products were sold from August 2015 to July 2025 for $140 to $250. They were also available online through Amazon.com and Overstock.com during this time."
"According to a separate recall notice posted to the Oster website, 95 injuries have been reported. Of those, 93 were minor burns that required no medical treatment and were "consistent with first-degree burns, such as sunburn or friction-related irritation." The remaining two were second-degree burns that resulted in the victims seeking treatment. Oster says it has received no reports of hospitalizations as a result of using the ovens."
Oster is recalling approximately 1,290,000 countertop ovens in the United States and about 104,195 units in Canada after ovens' French doors unexpectedly closed. The ovens were sold nationwide at Bed Bath & Beyond, Costco, Walmart, and online via Amazon and Overstock from August 2015 through July 2025 for $140–$250. Ninety-five injuries were reported, including 93 first-degree–type burns and two second-degree burns that required treatment; no hospitalizations reported. Owners should stop using affected ovens and contact Sunbeam Products for a free repair kit via phone or the Oster recall webpage. Four model numbers are included; model is on packaging or oven back.
