While 2.9 per cent of respondents reported using GLP-1 medication for weight loss, 15 per cent of those are taking medicines not licensed for that purpose. One off-label example is Rybelsus, approved for type 2 diabetes but containing the same active ingredient as Wegovy. Researchers warned that off-label use without appropriate clinical supervision can pose safety risks.
