Mother wants change so child 'didn't die for nothing'
"opportunities were missed"
"we do fully investigate all complaints"
"more obvious that something was wrong, but nobody knew what it was"
"mass on her brain that was so big they didn't think they could remove it"
Sam Tucker sought earlier diagnosis after her six-year-old daughter, Molly, was diagnosed with a large brain mass and died in 2017. An eight-month check showed a rising head circumference but no further action because of absence of other symptoms. Over two years symptoms progressed until limpness and a seizure prompted hospital admission and CT scan. The scan revealed a large mass deemed initially inoperable, followed by emergency transfer and a 10-hour debulking operation. A study delivered to health ministers highlighted inconsistent paediatric brain tumour treatment nationally; the local foundation stated it fully investigates complaints.
