"This fall, thousands of individuals, families, and advocates will gather in cities across the United States for the 2025 Walk to End Lupus Now®, the Lupus Foundation of America's largest awareness and fundraising program. Beginning in September, the series of events will bring together people from every background in support of lupus research, education, and patient services, creating meaningful impact through community action."
"Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects approximately 1.5 million people in the U.S. and millions more worldwide. The disease causes the immune system to mistakenly attack healthy tissue, leading to widespread inflammation, fatigue, joint pain, and in severe cases, organ damage. Lupus does not discriminate, but it does affect women at a much higher rate-nine out of ten individuals with lupus are female."
Thousands of people will gather across 36 U.S. cities beginning in September 2025 for Walk to End Lupus Now®, supporting lupus research, education, and patient services through fundraising and community events. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease affecting about 1.5 million people in the U.S. and millions worldwide, causing inflammation, fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, skin rashes, and, in severe cases, organ damage. Nine of ten people with lupus are female. The disease disproportionately affects Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, and Asian/Pacific Islander communities, which face greater barriers to diagnosis and care. Events include speakers, entertainment, educational booths, team fundraising, and resources for patients and families.
