Interview: Richard Corbridge, CIO, Segro | Computer Weekly
"The opportunity across the industry, and specifically at Segro, is huge because it is a place that has almost been proud of not adopting too much technology."
"What this role is testing, probably more than ever before, is my experience of getting to the business language, getting to value first, and making sure that you're telling the stories in a way that isn't technology-led."
"Peers, mentors, colleagues and coaches would say the private sector is going to be a lot faster, a lot more ruthless, and would involve a lot more watch-your-back type scenarios, but that didn't come to bear in reality."
Richard Corbridge joined Segro as CIO in November 2024, after roles at Boots, the Department for Work and Pensions, and the NHS. He sees the property sector as under-digitized and believes there is a huge opportunity to introduce technology across the industry. He prioritizes relationship-building and translating technical initiatives into business language and measurable value. He emphasizes telling stories that are not technology-led and working closely with operations and customer leadership, including reuniting with Paul Dunne from Boots. He views the role as an educational challenge that will test value-first delivery and change management skills.
