These drugs have been associated with side effects including nausea and, in some cases, extremely painful gallstones. Experts including a professor of cardiometabolic medicine, a public health nutrition lecturer, and a GP discuss the evidence about potential known side effects and the broader impact on societal perceptions of obesity. A patient, Sarah Le Brocq, describes living with obesity and using these drugs for two to three years. Declarations of conflicts of interest are provided for the experts.
