
"San Francisco Bay Shoreline, East Bay Interior Valleys, Santa Clara Valley Including San Jose and East Bay Hills as well as San Francisco County are under a heat advisory which was released by the National Weather Service on Monday at 8:04 p.m. The advisory is valid for Tuesday, Sept. 23 between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Temperatures up to 100 degrees for parts of the East Bay, mid to upper 90's across portions of the San Francisco Bay Shoreline and the Santa Clara Valley."

The warmest hours will be late morning through mid-afternoon before a return of weak onshore flow brings some relief. Hot conditions can cause heat illnesses, affect those without cooling or adequate hydration, and impact health systems, heat-sensitive industries and infrastructure. Recommended safety measures include staying hydrated, finding cool shelter, avoiding sun exposure, checking on vulnerable relatives and neighbors, never leaving children or pets in vehicles, adjusting outdoor activity timing, recognizing heat-related illness signs, dressing in lightweight clothing, and allowing regular rest breaks for outdoor workers.
