Tim Crockett, a 53-year-old UK Special Forces veteran, and his 18-year-old son Harrison completed a remarkable journey, rowing 2,400 nautical miles from San Francisco to Hilo, Hawaii in 48 days. They departed on June 3 and arrived late Sunday night, making them the first father-son team to achieve this feat. Their boat, named The Kraken, was part of a campaign called Tame the Kraken, aimed at raising funds for veterans suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injuries through a program called Row to Recovery.
