In all but three of those states (Massachusetts, Nevada, and New Mexico), CVS can administer a COVID-19 vaccination depending on patient age if there is an authorized prescription. In some states, pharmacists are prohibited from giving vaccines that have not been recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. CVS Pharmacy is offering FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccinations in many other states and territories, with appointments available online, via the CVS Health app, or by walk-in. The FDA recently approved new COVID-19 shots for adults 65 and older and certain younger high-risk individuals, and CDC vaccine advisers are scheduled to meet next month.
