1 of 2 people electrocuted on Cape Cod reportedly dies from his injuries

Jermaine Whitmore, 32, passed away from injuries sustained after coming into contact with electrical wires in an industrial accident in Hyannis. The incident occurred at a Hamden Circle residence while he was preparing to take his children to the beach. He heard a call for help from a worker in a bucket truck and attempted to assist. Tragically, his family indicated that he was electrocuted during his effort to help. The injured worker was transported to a Boston-area hospital by medical helicopter.
Jermaine Whitmore, 32, died from his injuries at Cape Cod Hospital, his relatives told the station.
Family members told WHDH that Whitmore, a father of four, was preparing to take his children to the beach when he heard a worker in a nearby bucket truck calling for help.
The relatives told the station they believe he was electrocuted after coming into contact with live wires as he tried to help the worker.
First responders were called to the scene at a Hamden Circle residence shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday.
