Robocall volume for 2025 totaled 52.5 billion, down a little over 1% from the 2024 total of 52.8 billion. December's 4.1 billion robocalls were up 6.4% from November but down 5.7% from December 2024. YouMail noted that robocalls increased in November and December 2025 after reaching a multi-year low in October."
"In December, consumers received an average of 140.6 million robocalls/day and 1,627 robocalls/second, down 7.8% from November's 157.6 million robocalls/day and 1,824 robocalls/second. However, the December results were 15.6% higher than during the comparable year-ago period. All robocall categories increased during December. Notifications rose nearly 11%, payment reminders increased 2%, and unwanted telemarketing and scam calls climbed more than 4%."
"Telemarketing and scam calls alone accounted for more than 2.3 billion robocalls in December, accounting for more than half (56%) of all robocalls placed. In November, the most annoying robocalls involved various types of loans, particularly pre-approved debt relief offers, following the trend established earlier in the year, according to YouMail. These pre-approved loan campaigns result in hundreds of millions of robocalls every month, the report found."
Annual robocall volume continued to hover between approximately 50 billion and 55 billion over the past five years, totaling 52.5 billion in 2025, a slight decline from 2024. December delivered 4.1 billion robocalls, up 6.4% from November but down 5.7% year-over-year, with daily averages of 140.6 million calls. Robocalls rose in November and December after an October multi-year low. All categories increased in December: notifications, payment reminders, and unwanted telemarketing and scam calls. Telemarketing and scam calls comprised a majority share, with pre-approved loan campaigns generating hundreds of millions of calls monthly and evading blocking efforts.
