Mozilla has announced the closure of its bookmarking service, Pocket, effective July 8, 2025, as part of a shift in focus towards better browsing solutions. Users will have until October 8, 2025, to export their saved items before data is permanently deleted. Alongside Pocket, Mozilla is also discontinuing Fakespot, the AI-based tool for identifying fake reviews, as it did not prove sustainable despite initial promise. The email newsletter associated with Pocket will be rebranded but will eliminate its weekend edition.
