Queensland released private information about the mother of a transgender teenager, a disclosure that potentially outed the child to a stranger. The state government demanded confidential medical information from parents of transgender children who are considering a legal challenge to a ban on puberty blockers. Health minister Tim Nicholls issued a new order banning puberty blockers hours after the supreme court found the first ban unlawful. Four mothers seeking a legally required statement of reasons were asked for their child's medical history, name, date of birth, diagnosis evidence and whether the child attended the Queensland Children's Gender Clinic. Parents described the requests as invasions of privacy and intimidation.
