Lumma infostealer takedown may not have succeeded
Briefly

Despite the FBI's announcement about the takedown of the Lumma infostealer group, researchers from Check Point Research reported that operations continue as command and control servers remain functional. The assessment indicates a growth in stolen data attributed to Lumma, while discussions around the group's uncertain future emerge in cybercrime forums. Concurrently, the Czech Republic has accused China of conducting cyber espionage against its Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2022, urging China to cease such activities—accusations that China has vehemently denied, stating they lack basis.
Check Point Research observed significant efforts by the Lumma developer to fully reinstate its infostealer activities and conduct business as usual.
We call on the People's Republic of China to adhere to these commitments and principles, refrain from similar attacks, and take appropriate measures in light of this situation.
