What is the timeline for repairs to the partially collapsed Santa Cruz Wharf?
Briefly

The collapse of part of the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf has left a visible mark on the local landscape, with tourists and locals expressing mixed feelings. City officials are planning to partially repair the damaged area by October and aim for completion by early 2026. While many visitors hope to restore the Wharf to its former glory, some locals suggest limiting restoration efforts to minimize expense and maintenance. The event has reignited fond memories and discussions about the Wharf's historical significance to the community.
It's kind of devastating, because for years, I've been coming out here and being able to look down to see the seals and stuff like that.
There's a lot of memories tied to this Wharf, so I'd love to see it back to its former glory.
I don't think we need to extend it out, I don't think we need to go through that expense and that wear and tear on the wharf.
City officials hope to finish a partial repair of what's left at the end of the wharf and start construction by October.
