West Valley street festivals need city support to stay afloat - San Jose Spotlight
Briefly

The Campbell City Council has increased its financial assistance for local festivals by covering 30% of fee costs, addressing concerns about high expenses and outdated policies. This change, particularly beneficial for events like Oktoberfest, will cost the city around $30,000 annually. Organizers stress that without such support, popular community events could be jeopardized, especially after the financial impact of the pandemic. Other chambers, like Los Gatos, are also seeking increased municipal support to ensure their food and music festivals thrive amidst rising costs.
"Our expenses, as with everybody else's for a festival, are increasing and I think that the city appreciates the fact that we bring strong economic benefit to (it)," Johnson told San José Spotlight.
Jennifer Lin, CEO of the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce, asked the Town Council for more support for Taste of Los Gatos this month.
