San Francisco's Little Free Library initiative introduces an engaging treasure hunt with two hidden Golden Bookmarks that winners can redeem for a complimentary trip to Portland, Oregon. Sponsored by Travel Portland in collaboration with Little Free Library and Alaska Airlines, the competition emphasizes Portland's literary scene and its rich network of independent bookstores. Each winner will receive airfare, accommodation, and $550 for expenses. This campaign enhances community engagement and highlights Portland as a literary destination through hidden bookmarks in local libraries, specifically in books about food or wine.
Ten Golden Bookmarks will be hidden throughout the country, including two in San Francisco, which were dropped Monday. Dozens of Little Free Libraries, along with little free art galleries, are spread out throughout the Bay Area and can be found on the organization's map.
Each winner will receive two round-trip tickets to Portland on Alaska Airlines, a two-night stay at a Portland hotel, and $550 to be used for ground transportation and other expenses.
