The clever way one town is outsmarting Yellowstone's bears
Briefly

Last summer, a 560-pound grizzly bear terrorized Gardiner, Montana, rummaging through trash and homes. The bear's actions led to heightened anxiety among residents and tourists for over a month. Local wildlife guides shared experiences of encounters with the bear, which was adept at accessing human food. Faced with the escalating problem, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks euthanized the bear. In response, residents are now implementing solutions, such as creating bear-proof trash containers, to prevent future habituation and interactions between humans and wildlife.
