Mayor Daniel Lurie approved a 20% increase in stall fees at San Francisco's Alemany Farmers Market, raising daily vendor fees from $50 to $60, effective January 2026. The measure, which passed unanimously, allows for annual adjustments for inflation without needing further votes. While most vendors accepted the increase, calls were made for improved marketing to enhance foot traffic. Comparing fees, Alemany's current rates remain lower than other markets, which charge more per square foot depending on various factors.
Ten dollars is fine - I'm for it. But if the city's going to collect more from us, I want to see that money go into marketing. We need more foot traffic.
Alemany currently charges sellers 42 cents a square foot, while other markets charge between 50 and 98 cents depending on the season and available parking.
