PG&E: Hundreds get power back, but a dozen will be without this weekend
Briefly

PG&E has been working to restore power to customers affected by outages caused by hazardous winds and a heat wave. While hundreds saw their power restored, a dozen customers in Alameda and Contra Costa counties remained without service as of Saturday morning. The outages, which impacted about 695 customers in Alameda and 275 in Contra Costa, were implemented as public safety shutoffs due to extreme weather conditions. Firefighters dealt with significant fires in the Bay Area, underscoring the critical fire weather threats in the region. PG&E expects all customers to be restored by Sunday evening.
PG&E spokesman Jeff Smith reported that power restoration continues after outages caused by hazardous winds and heat, with only a few customers in Alameda and Contra Costa counties still awaiting service.
High winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation prompted the utility's public safety power shutoffs, affecting over 900 customers in Alameda and Contra Costa counties during critical fire weather.
