My PyCon US 2025 recap
Briefly

After attending PyCon US 2025, the author shares their overall positive experiences from the event. Arriving early, they explored Pittsburgh and enjoyed vegan meals while connecting with other attendees. The author conducted a tutorial on decorators, utilizing an effective interactive system that engaged participants. A newcomer orientation was also held prior to the opening reception, fostering community integration and connections among participants. The sense of camaraderie and community spirit among developers at the conference was particularly emphasized, likening it to a summer camp experience.
I spent a ton of time at PyCon chatting with folks and I really enjoyed it. As Ned wrote, it's like summer camp.
The tutorial went well and the attendees seemed to enjoy it.
I wrote about this system in my blog post of tips for giving a good PyCon tutorial.
Anthony asked whether I was up for 'an adventure' and I said yes without asking questions.
