Cupertino to celebrate Persian New Year
"The Cupertino Library is hosting a celebration of Persian New Year, or Nowruz, on March 16, 7-8 p.m. The event features traditional spring dances, including circle dances, and attendees can learn about the cultural significance behind these movements and their connection to renewal and community."
"The League of Women Voters of Cupertino-Sunnyvale is looking for volunteers to help with the June 2 primary election in June and the Nov. 3 general election. Volunteers can act as: Drop box couriers, picking up ballots from an assigned drop box and transporting them to the Registrar of Voters office in San Jose; Vote center couriers, picking up ballots from vote centers in Sunnyvale or Cupertino and transporting them to the Registrar of Voters office; or Coordinators for a Logistics and Supplies Center at the Registrar of Voters office, sending out couriers to deliver supplies to vote centers."
The Cupertino Library will host a Nowruz celebration on March 16 from 7-8 p.m., featuring traditional Persian spring dances including circle dances. Attendees will learn about the cultural significance of these movements and their connection to renewal and community, as well as explore the symbolism of Nowruz traditions and the meaning of the traditional seven-symbol spread. This event is part of Santa Clara County Library District's Silicon Valley Reads celebration. Separately, the League of Women Voters of Cupertino-Sunnyvale is recruiting volunteers for the June 2 primary election and November 3 general election. Volunteer positions include drop box couriers, vote center couriers, and logistics coordinators. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, work in teams of two, and complete required training on May 5, 6, or 7.
