Tobias Schwecht Wins Triton Montenegro NLH/PLO Title - Poker News
Tobias Schwecht won the $30,000 no-limit hold'em and pot-limit Omaha mixed event at the 2026 Triton Super High Roller Series Montenegro festival for $465,000, earning his first trident trophy. The victory awarded 420 Card Player Player of the Year points and marked his first POY-qualified score of 2026. The payday was the third-largest of his career, bringing his lifetime recorded cashes to more than $5.8 million across 140 scores. It was his 16th in-the-money finish in a Triton event and lifted his tour earnings to just under $3 million. The 53-entry field produced a $1,590,000 prize pool paid to the top nine, with key eliminations occurring on both days, including Isaac Haxton finishing seventh.
"Schwecht's win also came with 420 Card Player Player of the Year points. This was his first POY-qualified score of 2026. This was the third-largest payday of Schwecht's career. He now has more than $5.8 million in lifetime cashes across 140 recorded scores. This was his 16th in-the-money finish in a Triton event. His earnings on the tour now sit at just shy of $3 million, including the $702,400 he earned for a sixth-place finish in a $40,000 mystery bounty event in Jeju last fall."
"The 33-year-old professional player has been around the live scene since the early 2010s, but only made his Triton debut a few years ago. His first cash was a final-table showing in a 2023 Triton Cyprus $25,000 no-limit hold'em event. He placed seventh for $156,400. Now, just over three years after that first taste of success on the high-stakes tour, he is officially a Triton champion."
"The 53-entry turnout for this event created a prize pool of $1,590,000 that was split amongst the top nine finishers. The bubble burst late on day 1 inside the Maestral Resort Casino, with Tom Vogelsang running pocket queens into the pocket aces of Schwecht. He was soon joined on the rail by Robert Cowen (9th - $46,000) and recent no-limit hold'em main event winner Danny Tang (8th - $61,000)."
"The second and final day of action began with seven players remaining and Schwecht out in front. He added to his lead when his flopped aces up held against the wrap straight draw of Isaac Haxton. The American high-stakes star turned even more equity with a backdoor flush draw, but the river paired the board and Haxton was eliminated in seventh place ($78,000)."
