Tomlin: Rodgers doesn't need surgery, status TBD
"Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not need surgery to repair a fracture to his left, non-throwing wrist, coach Mike Tomin announced Tuesday."
""Really, it's just about bracing and securing it for his comfort and safety. And then, it's about how functional he is," Tomlin said."
""We'll see where the week leads us and we'll take it day by day," Tomlin said."
"Mason Rudolph took over at quarterback with Rodgers sidelined and would start against the Bears if the Steelers determine Rodgers is unable to play."
Aaron Rodgers will not require surgery for a fracture to his left non-throwing wrist. The injury will be managed with bracing to secure the wrist for comfort and safety. Evaluation of his functional ability will determine his availability. Friday will be a key day to assess his status for Sunday's game at Chicago. Rodgers left the Steelers' game against the Cincinnati Bengals in the second half after sustaining the injury late in the second quarter. Rodgers wanted to return to that game according to the coach. Mason Rudolph replaced Rodgers and would start if Rodgers is ruled unable to play.
